The phone on the night desk rang at a quarter past midnight. George had left hours ago. He'd left a note in my typewriter. Back by midnight. Do not go out alone. Downstairs the tension was warming up, and the whole building hummed like it knew something I didn't. I was worried.
I stand up from my desk. Maybe a glass of milk would... I stop as I feel my stomach crumble. It let out a cold reminder what would come if i allowed for myself even a moment of rest. I throw away the desire for a break. Doesn´t matter. I don´t even like milk.
Nobody looks twice at something that pure. Maybe that´s why i didn´t notice the shift,
I knew him. Everybody did. He sat on every breakfast table in the city and in the chrome pitcher at every diner counter. He smiled from the side of the park bench as he adequately finished an ordinary glass of milk while a reporter put down every last word of him. He was like an angel. Nobody looks twice at something that pure. Maybe that´s why i didn´t notice the shift. I was getting attached, but before i knew what had happened, it was already too late. The target i had took an oath to protect had become more than a assignment. He had become like family.
I took my sword, loaded my pocket with a fresh roll of film and went out into the rain. George would call it a fool's errand. My heart aches as it reminds me of the mission. I let out a long sigh and decided to accept the reality of the situation. The seed had already taken root and there was nothing that could be done. Very well. Regardless, I must push forward. I´ve worked too hard to let everything fall apart.

Every paper keeps a morgue: drawers of old clippings nobody reads. A perfect cover for my notes.

Finally found her. Troublesome lady, but i´m sure i can make her play her part accordingly. Now, how to get rid of this body?
ConclusionFEELING CHEERFUL
MorgueFolder F
She´s insane! I have to rethink my strategy. The bodies around her just keep piling up. Even her adversary is dead. Should i just kill her? No!! This woman is important to him. I need to improvise.
ConclusionI want to quit, but i can´t

And then... it began. A journey that would put his and my resolve to a test. Here lies the report, disclosing every event from the moment it all started. I took liberty to hire few collaborators in order to document it like a video game script. He would´ve appreciated that... Read the report yourself and decide if i was in the right. There is still two more to come, archived into their own folders.

Special report
I don´t recall ever having the desire to go to church, but i found this one fascinating during my travel in that parallel world. The congregation is split down the aisle between Team Mike and Team Vosco. This paper is printing the count, while diving thoroughly into the core of an emerging new competitor for peoples devotion, and money.
Night final
The presses started rolling at four. The story is out in the wild. Now, it is up to the public to decide their stand.
What will come out of this, I don´t know. I just hope for the best and that the truth finally makes its way to the core of the people.

Two names. One pulpit. The congregation decides.
Church of Mike holds services every Sunday in a building nobody can find on a map. Behold, mortal, for only the chosen one can find their way to the garden of blessings. Mind your steps, for the wicked shall drown and the road to shore has no coordinates.
There are two sides. Team Mike says the pulpit was always his. Team Vosco says it's time for an intervention. This paper doesn't take sides. It prints the count. Full report in progress.
